The Midlands Investment

The Midlands Investment, supported by the European Regional Development Fund, provides commercially focussed finance through Small Business Loans, Debt Finance, Proof of concept and Equity Finance funds. The Midlands Engine Investment Fund (MEIF) aims to transform the finance landscape for smaller businesses in the Midlands and to realise the region’s potential to achieve economic growth through enterprise. MEIF is a collaboration between the British Business Bank and ten Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs) in the West Midlands and East and South Midlands.

MEIF provides over £250m of investment to boost small and medium business (SME) growth in the Midlands.

Harborough Grow-on Centre

Harborough Grow-on Centre is a brand-new energy efficient, high specification office building designed for dynamic and growing small and medium-sized businesses, located in an expanding commercial area just on the south side of Market Harborough town.

This centre works in tandem with the Harborough Innovation Centre, which offers flexible co-working and offices for start ups.

Much like the Harborough Innovation Centre, the Grow-on Centre contains ground floor meeting and conference rooms, available to hire without having to leave the building.

The centre can also benefit from business support offered to companies by the Council across Harborough District, which has a growing reputation as a great place to live and work.

Harborough District Local Plan

A key objective of the Local Plan is to seek to promote sustainable economic growth across the District. It seeks to achieve this through facilitating the growth of existing businesses, fostering new local enterprise, contributing to a reduction in the need for outcommuting and helping to increase the sustainability and self-containment of communities to enable the development of a vibrant, diverse and sustainable business community.

The Local Plan includes policies and identifies sites to enable sustainable growth in key sectors and priorities identified through the Economic Development Strategy, namely broadband infrastructure, provision of employment land, Tourism, Leisure and other Town Centre uses.
