Environmental Grant Scheme
Harborough District Council has launched an Environmental Grant Scheme to support its Climate Emergency Action Plan (2022-2030). The scheme will provide up to £450,000 over four years (April 2023 to March 2027) for local environmental projects. Grants of £5,000 to £20,000 are available for constituted 'not for profit' organisations, such as community groups, charities, and parish councils.
Projects must demonstrate a public benefit and positive environmental impact, aligning with goals like reducing carbon footprints, waste, or enhancing biodiversity. Eligible projects could include community energy schemes, repair initiatives, or educational projects on climate change.
Applications are submitted via the link below, and the next deadline is noon, 27th September 2024.
Workplace Charging Scheme
The Workplace Charging Scheme offers grants to businesses, charities, and public sector organisations for installing up to 40 electric vehicle chargepoints at their sites. The grant covers 75% of the cost, up to £350 per socket. Eligible sites must have dedicated off-road parking. The scheme is available across the UK, excluding the Channel Islands and Isle of Man. Applications are submitted online, and successful applicants receive a voucher valid for 180 days. The scheme runs until 31 March 2025.
Get money for an electric car or van
The Plug-in Vehicle Grant provides funding to reduce the cost of new low-emission vehicles. Grants are automatically applied by dealers, reducing the purchase price. Eligible vehicles include electric cars, vans, motorcycles, and taxis that meet specific emissions standards. The amount of the grant varies depending on the type of vehicle, with up to £2,500 available for cars. The scheme aims to make low-emission vehicles more affordable and accessible across the UK.
